Winning top crew or top helm in the Friday Night Race series is not easy. But Mooredale has swept both spots two years in a row, with George Carter claiming top skipper and Sharleen Weatherley winning her first crew award.

The awards go to the racers with the best 6 races of the year, out of (this year's) 13-race series and were handed out on Friday night after the final race.

Congratulations to crews Michal Bem, Tom Jehu, Mary Lou Langton, and Jason Shabtai who finished in the top 10, and helms Bobski and Robbin Coedy who also finished in the top 10. With more than 120 unique crews and 70 helms, these are great results!

Mooredale had great success at last weekend's New Helm Regatta. 7/16 boats were ours, and results showed how hard everyone has been working all summer.

Anna Sepko and Albert Chau dominated the regatta, winning all three races and coming first overall.

Second went to Michal Bem and Maciej Wieczorek. Jason Shabtai and Adrian Butscher came fifth. Congratulations also to Jon and Shaurya, Stuart and Colin, Kyra and Sharleen, and Kalina and Trevor.

Well done to all our new racers! And kudos to Michael Williamson who has been so encouraging at our weekly race trainings.

Thanks to all our Race Training session coaches for a great run that continues. Here's a shot of Vice Commodore Frank Newton at the Helm. See you Mondays!

The first race training of the season took place on Monday this week.  A great turnout of 16 racers went through a boat tuning talk, learning how to depower the boat in high winds and seeing exactly how much you really can bend a mast with the vang! Special thanks to George for teaching the class. Thank you Robbin and Christine who have signed up to run future race trainings. Monday nights :)
